Brain Alchemy

the triune brain, endocrine system, glands of transformation

Introduction

Some of brain alchemy can be thought of as activating major acupoints at the back, top, front of the head, and integrating them with the center of the brain - very similar to work with the lower tan tien.  There are simple massages, meditations, etc., that facilitate those activations and connections.

The purpose of this head work is to integrate at a fairly physical jing level, to nourish and balance the entire brain, and to complete the curve over the head so that vitality flows down and the upper integrates with the lower in various ways.

The upper center refines much more readily so it's easy to over-do these methods, especially with those who've opened to higher energies.  Scale back the brain alchemy practices as far as you have to (or drop'm altogether) in order to stay balanced and integral top ~ bottom.  Seldom and for short durations (at least relative to the lower denser work).  This is about physical harmony and coherence, not about flying out the top.

Sambhavi Mudra - is used within the yogic system.  (Thanks! to Jimmerino.)

~ quote from AYP's description of Sambhavi ~

"Things may still be a bit hectic with mulabandha.  It is okay to introduce sambhavi with sexual energy bouncing around in the lower regions, as sambhavi will help bring sexual energy up higher where it will become more stable.  Sambhavi and mulabandha work together that way – stimulating and stabilizing sexual energy traveling up and down the spinal nerve during spinal breathing."

Red Phoenix method - is used similarly within the kunlun system as sambhavi mudra is used in the yogic system.  (The basic kunlun nei gung method is pre-requisite.)
