Joanna's Raw Chicken Liver blend

Here's a raw blended drink that's based on a recipe that a friend of mine used while she was pregnant.  Very, very nourishing.

 

I'm careful to buy organic chicken liver, usually several pounds.  Once home, I put a single layers of ch.livers in zip lock bags and put them in the freezer.  Once frozen, they can be broken up pretty easily while still in the bags and fetched a couple at a time for a blend.

 

recipe base:

    spicy tomato juice

    parsley

    frozen chicken liver

    raw egg/s

 

options:

herb/s

    soaked lychi berries (a.k.a. "gou qi zi", goji berries)

    soaked american ginseng root

    maca powder

veggies

    tomato

    greens: broccoli, spinach, etc.

    bell pepper

    garlic, onion

supplement/s

    brewer's yeast

 

NOTE:  I've tried this blend with beef liver and it tastes awful.  Chicken liver is much better: relatively tasteless.

 

 

Ox-tail soup is a good recipe idea (slow-cooked, not raw!), but that's another story.   :)
